Hi all

I installed one of Internet Soilutions Uncapped DSL at a client yesturday. All is working nice and smooth but one userer is having a issue. She is using an Iburst email account and is unable to send out emails on this connection. She is the only one that uses a Iburst mailbox the other users arte using mailboxes supplied by IS. According to IS there is no smtp server for the Uncapped DSL and a smtp server must be set up onsite. They dont have a server just the router with natting and DHCP. The IS mail accounts is using smtpauth.dial-up.net to send out mail and this works 100% for them. What can i use to get the Iburst mail to send out.

Thanx

hi if I'm correct Iburst doesn't allow sending of emails through other ISP's - this was an attempt to stop spammers spoofing their mailbox and sending out junk...

So the only way to allow the use with an iburst account is to setup the SMTP to send email's via IS uncapped dsl pop account ;)

The stange thing is that when they used Telkom the smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net worked 100%. How do i explain that

pop : pop3.iburst.co.za

smtp : smtp.saix.co.za

Above works :)

When u get an Uncapped static ip solution thru IS you have to provide your own smtp server , ie have a local MS exchange server on site , and route mail out thru DNS.Unforunately for the Iburst user they gonna be stuck unless to setup your own smtp server onsite.I would advise to use a free mail server software called HMail or use the builtin ISS virtual smtp server provided free with windows
