Could someone out there please help me with some information on software that could be downloaded somewhere with which I can check the individual usage of different users on my ADSL line.

What it boils down to is: Say I have a 10GB account and three users/computers using the same line via router (Linksys WAG54G), how do I check the individual stats for each computer to see who has been using all the bandwidth?

Your help will be much appreciated...

Some help

not sure if you can do that without using a proxy server and then using the proxy server reporting to draw those kinds of stats out. not much help i know perhaps someone else has more info.

LordWabbit pretty much has the idea, you'll want some kind of routing software between your machines and your router. This could be something like Squid proxy or you could use ISA if you're up to the task of configuring it.

Basically the machine running the proxy will be connected to your router, and then all your other machines will be connected to another switch that is then connected to that proxy PC (not the router). Therefore all traffic goes through that machine and it can then do basic routing, etc.

install a linux box, you can do everything then - you can make stats per user/per port, per time period, whatever, no proxy bullsiht, everything will still work as is
