Some info on water cooling please?

Not done it myself before but we have reached a stage where in one of our departments we need to completely remove all fans and other moving objects from the computers.

We have cnc machines in the department, they use oil to cool cutters.

The oil gets into the air as vapor, this turns back into liquid when it hits pc fans.

Is there any form of water cooling out there that is completely fan free, can cool everything (including the PSU, cpu and graphics cards? One machine runs in SLI mode.

besides the horrible mess this makes inside the computers it also turns dust into a messy paste similar to slag in an old engine and due to the fact that there are grinders and various machines cutting into metal in the room this slag is more often than not highly conductive.

Today I am burying a I7 with 16GB's of RAM and 2 Nvidia GPU's.

I am hesitant to get the guy a new computer but obviously he needs it.

Any suggestions? Water cooling or something else?

Filters do not work, I have tried this. They are either to big and let the oil through or they are to fine and need to be replaced at least daily.
 
Give the guy an office away from the machinery? Give him a solid state PC to use as a frontend to a more powerful system elsewhere? i.e. Remote Desktop or equivalent.
 
He needs to be right by the machines.

we are having a office built in for him but time is a constraint.

Actually thinking of building his machine into a cupboard with external extractor fans or something.

Uses dual screen, I am a little worried about 3d rendering via rdp.
 
Use a KVM extender over cat5 cable - not sure about the 3d rendering though.

That will probably be your best bet (and cheapest), moving the chassis to a clean area somehow, or enclosing it and giving it clean airflow

To water cool an SLI config, I'll assume 500W load, and since you do not want any fans, you'll need I'd say around 4 3x120 rads to passively cool it all. Or you could cool it with a single quad 120 radiator that is placed somewhere else that has clean airflow (running the water tubes all the way there, 30m tubing can work with dual pumps).

edit: or maybe installing proper dust filters will help (www.demciflex.com)? Might not stop the oil vapor, but should stop any metallic bits getting through.

Managed to revive the motherboard and all parts by giving it a wash in Iso Alcohol.

Told him no upgrades till the room is built for his office.

There is a seperate little office inside the department with 2 computers in (and own air-con). They are both 100% clean (well as clean as can be). so will see after that.

You'll need air intake too. You can't simply extract air when you have no intake, otherwise you end up making an ineffective vacuum pump.
Also, I don't think you'll need that many fans in the pipe. The ones in the case should suffice, but you might need one extra right at the end.
