Hi,

I recently downgraded my pc from windows 8 to windows 7. I am now trying to install the nvidia 296.10 driver, the installation keeps failing. It returns an error that says "cannot write into "NVIDIA/..........." Access Denied. I tried to delete the NVIDIA Folder (C:/NVIDIA) and it wont let me delete it (even though i am the administrator on my laptop).

Is there any way to fix this issue? Thanks.

Can you delete the folder (C:/NVIDIA) ?

I hope i am wrong but in my experience some folders in Windows 7 is just impossibly to delete.
I had the issue when i installed IIS and wanted to go back to a LAMP setup. To make a long story short i had problems with my local host set to IIS and i could not get Apache to work correctly on the same machine.
The folder would not delete. I googled it and found this to be a security feature in Win 7.
Maybe there where some sys admin magic that could have made it work nicely together on the same machine like changing the default port ect. But i did not had the knowledge.

End result i had to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows 7

Check out the (C:/NVIDIA) folder permission is by right clicking on it ...."properties"
