I thought that other thread was getting too questions and answered cross-woven through it so I decided to start a new thread.

Graphics seem to be working fine, my only issue is I don't like the way the fonts are rendered. Its got that like 'cleartype' look to them which are suppose to make them look better (read sharper) but it also makes them look scraggly.

Secondly, I have a Logitech MX1000 mouse, in Windows I have an issue where if I dont install the drivers the mouse moves very erratically. Are there Logitech drivers for Ubuntu and how do I go about installing them?

Also, on the subject of mouse control, how do I make it so that when I push the mouse wheel in, it turns into a up down scroll thing?

To fix the fonts, type this into your terminal. sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts

I also hated that screw up. Not sure about the mouse though.

Thanks!

Another question - I'm using an app called uShare to stream media to my xbox. My MP3s etc are kept on my HTPC, Through the menu system I can Connect to server ... > Connect to MP3 share. How do I do that from the terminal so that i can write it into the command line i use to run ushare?

Thanks!

Now I just gotta learn how to add it to my gstab

As far as the fonts go, are you running Gnome or KDE?
Are you using an LCD?

Gnome & LCD
Can't help with Gnome, but with the LCD you have to be at its optimum resolution for the fonts to look good. I see you're having problems with your screen card, and normally in cases like that, you can't get to the optimum resolution (had the same problems with fonts when I changed my screen card :().

No its running at its native resolution.

I’m not a gnome user so this is from memory. But I think if you do System --> Preferences --> Appearances, there should be a fonts tab. If you play around with the font dpi settings you might be able to get it to look like you want.

Is there an equivalent to Device Manager in Ubuntu?

Everything you need should be under the System menu.

Prefs>advanced> general> autoscroll

Opera...
