Something I really should learn more about...Help please!

Hi guys,

I have a pitiful 384 ADSL connection from Mweb. So obviously it's cable, with a router. Thing is, my internet connection never connects up automatically unless I set the setting on my mac connection PPP to connect automatically.

How do I change this so that when/what ever I plug the cable in it connects?

Just set the router to handle the connection rather than the computer.

my problem with fiddling has been that it is my dads office connection too. In his office. Will have a look at that page thank you.

I can't access the 192.168.1.254 page they require me too. And I have no firewall activated. Is there another way?

Which router ? Billion as per that page ?

It is a Telkom one. Made by Telkom that is. I noticed that was just for billion but cannot find any other options.

Okay I managed to find the IP of the router..Is there a defualt username and password for telkom ones? Tried Admin-Admic | Admin - Epic Router | Admin - Administrator.

Guess ill need to try dig up the manual or something :?
