R Kelly asked to explain scam
http://www.news24.com/News24/Entertainment/Celebrities/0,,2-1225-2108_2487593,00.html refers:

"The court was packed when Zakwe appeared in court on Wednesday. Most of the victims are pensioners and according to the charge sheet, some victims were swindled of more than R100 000 each."

They use the emotive term pensioners for sympathy then tell us they lost sums like R100k? Something is not right here.

Lots of points really. The whole story just sounds bizarre to me. Some secret opportunity for pensioners to invest in a scheme to bring R Kelly to Durban.

Ask your uncle if he knows who R Kelly is.

They didn't technically say that the pensioners actually lost R100k. But in fraud cases, usually something is not right. ;)

They actually did say some of them were swindled out of more R100k each.

No, they said:

Most of the victims are pensioners and according to the charge sheet, some victims were swindled of more than R100 000 each.

If they had left victims out, then it would've meant the pensioners were swindled out of R100k. The above quote is ambiguous and doesn't definitely mean pensioners - however, when read it makes one conclude that it was. It's called journalism. :D

I'm fairly certain he had no intention of stealing anyone's money.

At worst, he may be guilty of overlooking the real thief's discrepancies.

Lol I think Zakwe is looking for a scapegoat and fame

Surely before teh court could even ask / summon R Kelly to explain his involvement, there would have to be some sort of proof of a transaction/deposit from this person into R Kellys account. I wonder if they could provide proof of a R10 Mil deposit? lol
