Hi, just got all my new parts yesterday, put them together & then tried to run a few games to see how it would do and well I would like to know if these seem right?

K, pc specs

Asus M2N-E motherboard
2x512mb DDR2 400 ECC Ram
AMD 3500+ AM2
XFX 7800gtx 256 mb
Western Digital 250gig SATA2 (spit into 2 partitions)

Drivers
Motherboard - 9.16
G card - 93.71

Nothing is overclocked...
And this is how its running in games on highest everthing with 1280x1024
Trackmania 75fps
Counterstrike 60fps?
Fear Extraction Point- still need to do the video test thing but on 1024x768 it is lagging a lot when I see people.
Prey jitters every now and then
Quake 4 jitters every now and then on an open map with no one but me in.

Haven't done 3D Mark Yet but surely a XFX7800GTX can handle these games no problem?

Thanx in advance

All power is plugged in to graphics card, I have a 400w noname (from eurobyte). but the one thing it does do sometimes(like the 1st time I ever used it) , the computer would turn on but the graphics card fan doesn't and then a few seconds later it then started spinning

Something definitely wrong. I got an average of about 114 FPS in CSS in 1280X1024 full settings with a 6800GS.

I hope its just that, a psu is a lot easier to fix than something like the motherboard or gcard, would the ECC ram slow it down at all do you think?

Sounds like your FPS in CS is locked at 60fps. Ie. V-Sync is on.

I used to get those FPS as well with my 7800GTX, CS is quite heavilly CPU dependant.

Ok, test FEAR XP on 1024x768 & 1280x960 (i think it was)

1024x768
Min 27
Ave 65
Max 163

1280x960
Min 27
Ave 50
Max 113

Yet if I play a level it lags a lot :( ... I'm confused

um i have the 4200+ and then with 512mb of 266 ram :( but a sparkle 7800gtx

i got 1280*960 at full detail full everything

min26

average 55

and max 166

How about this for another possibility, forgot about this one but my CPU is idling between 50 and 60 and motherboard is at 43...possible overheating?

Welcome to my world.:(

Just ran 3D Mark 06 :(

Yep, chipset drivers installed and their the latest as well according to the nvidia site...I suppose the only way to find out if it was the ram would be to get some normal DDR2 ram cause I tried unplugging things like DVD rom and fans to maybe see if it was power but no change. Any other way I could go about testing it or you think it'd just be best to take it to a shop and ask them to test it for me?

Probably heat. Use Rivatuner and monitor the temps even running 1 test in 3DM2K1 will (nature) then check the temp log on the GFX card. If it's above 80'C then card is probably switching to low power mode.

k, downloaded rivatuner and ran 3dmark03 with it in the background, the highest temp it recored was a core temp of 72 and then not sure what this but ambient temp was at 47
