Im on the 3gb account. Purchased an extra 4gb of bandwidth. Jason assured me the amount was already allocated to my account and from what I can see it is.

However, went over the 3gb mark, have about 2gb left. With the nice storm here in JHB I was paranoid so I disconnected the router entirely.

After a few hours I tried reconnecting again to get the PAP Authentication failed error we all SO love (especially on 1st of November)

I'm currently connected through a friend's account from mweb AGAIN.

Has anyone else had trouble connecting to WA? I'm pretty sure the support team is starting to get pissed off with me :D

Give me a call here in the office now Acid and I'll sort you out:

Yeah no problems this side. Been a very quiet (Friday) usually is. Give us a call and we'll check your account.

What is your payment method? When you purchase extra GB currently if you on "electronic payment / transfer" option it has to be approved manually. Though CC and D/O should be automatic.

Also when you connect see if you can get to www.telkom.co.za or www.webafrica.co.za, if you can means you been hardcapped.

Thanks for the support guys. Unfortunately I can't get a hold of SAIX or the normal Telkom ADSL guys to help/tell me if there's something wrong in my area.

One things that does come to mind (after working with DNS servers and how things get routed for a while now)

Places like Mweb and Axxess has a ".co.za" type username (normally [email protected]) which WA does not have. I like it that its all cool and neat and stuff BUT here's my theory :

After it became apparent that my connection does not even GET to WA for authentication, I was wondering what if "wadsl" does not get routed properly. I'm using the wrong words, the "wadsl" does not get resolved by Telkom properly. So it has no idea where to go to in the first place.

Is there an alternative to the username "me@wadsl" ? Something that might give Telkom a kick in the sack and say "you should go there you poopie head!"

Any ideas welcome, I'm still on hold for Telkom representative... apparently my call is important to them... :D

I was having the same problems with the storm yesterday, gave WA a call and spoke to Jason, he advised me to call Telkom about it, I called them spoke to a techie, told me it was noise related and that the noise on the line was my ISPs fault...

OMG! What idiots!!! (Telkom that is)

Strange, my noise levels never changed and I can connect to other ISP's just fine. Going to try WA again to see if I can connect

Seems I was the idiot. After re-checking my credentials a couple of billion times before I call or log a ticket, I decided to copy and paste from their management console.

Instant connect. IE's autocorrect let me down this time and I feel like a dodo.

Thanks for Web Africa in going to great lenghts to solve my query.

Maybe I just need to drink some more.... should cancel out the fool in me :D
