SONA 2018 has been postponed

but that's exactly what the EFF will be doing, the current parliament is illegitimate in their eyes, and therefore so is the election of the president, and therefore SONA

Julius did say that he was going to give Cyril a chance

Well at the very least this should be a more intelligent address than the slow bumbling idiot we've had to watch for the last 9/10 (?) SONAs as he tries to pronounce any number bigger than 10.

I think he has to make some allusion to land redistribution to appease the radical wing of his following - how sincere that will be remains to be seen. I'm somewhat suspicious about the motives in this area. Best case scenario is that he finds some kind of a compromise that everyone can live with - the voluntary 50/50 participation in farms that had previously been hinted at could possibly be a way forward. The truth is that there are something like 4000 properties that government itself owns that they haven't done a thing with as well as the fact that a huge amount of land resides in government and/or tribal structures. One glimmer of hope is that Ramaphosa is said to be against BBBEE, privately sees it as very damaging and wants to somehow phase it out. But he's walking a tightrope between having some kind of sensible approach to growing the economy (for everyone) and appeasing the radical nut jobs who honestly seem to think that all land owned by whites anywhere, for all time was somehow outright stolen by the current occupiers of that land.

Not sure that will happen. I believe it was under the Puma administration that the policy was put in place? As for the land issue; thats a tight rope he needs to walk.

Chester missing helping to do interviews on red carpet for Enca is funny

He told Jackson Mthembu that his suit is from Truworths.

Am I the only one who feels that the red carpet type fashion show at every state of the nation address is distasteful? Public representatives wearing New York or Paris fashion week type of clothing, instead of being less conspicuous in their attire and wear suits or overalls?

from the little bit I've seen so far all the dresses were made locally

and the EFF do wear overalls

The whole thing is a slap in the face of the poor

I wouldn't like blue light expensive vehicles even if those cars were made in Soweto. This whole fashion show state of the nation thing just makes me want to throw up to be honest. EFF wearing overalls is awesome. But at the end of the day, they're all the same. They want a chance to put their hands in our (tax payers) money. Maybe me being unsettled about their attire is a waste of time.
