Thinking of jumping in… Mostly for music.

Era 100 vs 300?

Era 100 worth the premium over One SL? Looks like it.

Era 300 vs Five?

Idea is to get a pair now and perhaps use them rear speakers in the future. And to replace my Samsung MS650 soundbar.

Pricing seems to be fixed everywhere? Anyone cheaper?

i should add - that's assuming you're an Apple ecosystem user or want to be.

If not, I know from friends that the Sonos stuff is up there with the best. I just hate admitting it :p

Pulled the trigger on 2x Era 300 instead of 2x Era 100. The size of the 100’s was appealing but the 300’s really seem to be next gen when it comes to sound stage and spacial audio. Also with better bass, I may be able to hold off on getting a sub. Not sure I’ll be jumping into Dolby Atmos any time soon, but it’s nice to have.

These Era 300s are bonkers. Started with one for a while and then added the second and paired, so that I would have an upgrade path. Just incredible with Apple Music and Lossless.

Total fingerprint magnet.

Bought some other components which I haven't unboxed as yet.

Arc soundbar to replace my Samsung MS650 which has served me well.

Sub in black to complement the Era 300s and/or Arc.

2x Era 100s for an/other room/s.

Having seen the Sub in black before, my concern is it's piano black and will be another fingerprint magnet which will scratch easily. It will also contrast strongly against a usually white/light coloured wall, presuming I'll be positioning it against one.

Would you rather go for the Sub in white to blend in better? I've seen the Sub Mini in white and it's more of a matte finish. Seems a lot more durable.

... lossless or HiRes lossless? ;)

Jokes aside - I looked at similar recently and was torn between Kef LSX or Sonos ERA300

It's true ...

You wouldn't want it any higher or any lower ... so it's perfect :)
Ever witnessed the seamless integration between Sonos and Apple? Ever done a blind ALAC vs FLAC? Hehe

It's a tough one.

My OCD says things have to match . As I get older, I even prefer having the same brands and taking a slight hit on quality. My neighbour has a C1 & Samsung Q990 - and it's a fantastic combo, but I'd be tempted to keep everything looking the same . Also, my OCD says never get piano black because no matter how well you look after it, it will show scratches and marks going forward. So I don't really have an answer .

Will the sub be hidden maybe?

When I did have a mismatch, my sub were behind the speakers and it wasn't that much of an issue for me.

Yes likely hidden for now but also don’t want scratches. Even worried of wiping it with a microfibre cloth! Or leaving one on it as a cover. I think white is the answer.
