Sonos Thread

@Dolby Atmos music is incredible on the Era 300s. Wow. Even my 10 year old couldn’t believe it.

In this space it would be the KEF LSX II for me.

Maybe even the LS50 on special.

I have one of the white subs to match the room it’s in. Looks nice and works well. I’ve been on Sonos for about 8 years now.

I'm late, but here's my 2c anyway.

Era 300 vs 100. I have 2 x 100 and they are pretty good. To be honest, they are expensive given the sound quality, but I bought them for the ease of use. They are great for that. The whole smart speaker thing is definitely worth it imo.

I decided against the 300 because if you only use 1, it doesn't use the main driver. The main driver is only used if they are a stereo pair, and I'm not placing 2 of those in every room I want a smart speaker to be.

Integration - Spotify integration isn't great. You can't voice control spotify. It usually remembers the playlist, but not always. I hate saying "play music" and my podcast comes on. Then I have to open the app etc.
Sonos radio is SOOOO bad, and for some reason it will occasionally default to that.
It supposedly has better Apple integration, so I guess Apple wins again. Assholes.

A big benefit over a typical Bluetooth speaker is that it runs its own apps, so even if you play music from your phone to your speaker, it will only play the music, not notification sounds etc.

Another benefit of Sonos is those Sonos amps. Most of my house speakers are in-wall or in-roof hidden speakers. Sonos amps drive those just fine.
