I suppose it's okay for watching movies, but glasses (or head mounted displays) need to start getting competitive with workstation monitors so that we don't have to be tied to our desks any more.

It's consumer tech, not a workstation.
Why would you even need to work in this anyway? Extra large powerpoint presentations for 1 person?

I was thinking the same thing, that looks like it would get uncomfortable after a few hours.

It is incredibly uncomfortable. I had the Ver 1 on pre-order from B&H NYC and thankfully they never received stock so they refunded me. Anyway the original is heavy and uncomfortable. It's a dud. I think ver 2 is still going to be a dud. I'll wait for ver 3 or 4 at 50% weight or less and full HD OLED displays of larger size.

7K is the Japanese price. US price will probably be R6.5K and the RSA price will be R13K.

Many years ago I played a game at one of the ComputerFaire shows with these VR glasses. It was amazing. And we still do not have this technology available everywhere
