These cameras seem really great. Versatile, powerful and in a seriously small package.

Bionz X image processor
Hybrid AF system with 25 contrast-detect and 117 phase-detect points [A7 only]
Weather-sealed magnesium alloy body
3-inch tilting LCD with 1.23 million dots
XGA (2.4 million dot) electronic viewfinder
Diffraction correction technology
Full HD video recording at 1080/60p and 24p; uncompressed HDMI output
Wi-Fi with NFC capability and downloadable apps

Yes Sony cameras are great cameras, although some Canikon guys would have you believe otherwise.

The A7 looks like a great camera, unfortunately it will probably too expensive for my budget.

I myself are planning on upgrading my A37 to a A77 end November.

In terms of sensor, yes, the A7 looks pretty good. Just keep in mind that the A7 is not a direct full-frame DSLR competitor --- it really is more like a full-frame NEX.

If you stick to using one or two primes, then you will get the benefit of the smaller (and lighter) camera, but the autofocus system is not quite geared towards action photography, so it is a bit of a niche tool.

Still, it is good to see some strong competition from Sony.
