Sony Bravia not turning on

Hi, I have a Sony bravia lcd tv that don't turn on. When plugged in the standby light goes on, then when you switch it on with the remote the light goes green and switch backto red. The red led flash then 8 times. Now google search brings up a short on audio circuit. Just want to know if anyone had a similar problem and is it worth repairing.

How old is the TV, under warranty still?
Depending on what circuit is fried will depend on the cost - usually works out cheaper to replace the TV with a new unit, but check if Sony can diagnose and quote for free and make a call when you know what the costs are.

Tv is about 5 years old and out of warranty. Sony led codes suggest to check ic406 and PS401/402, but couldn't find these on the board. Couldn't see any burnt marks or popped caps. Boards looks clean. Will try Sony soon.

Tv fixed. Hdmi controller ic shorted, removing it solved the problem.
