Hi guys

I recently purchased a 46cx520. I was very pleased with the lcd, but the dimness of the screen bothered me and really caused me to strain my eyes. Tried all of the settings but to no avail, the screen was still dim.

Then I disabled the light sensor setting under the eco menu and the screen is tons better. Used the AVS forum calibration disc and been having a great cinema experience since then.

Hope this helps others having the same issue.

Will try sport mode Postman, but I prefer to change all the settings to what I'd like them to be. Not a fan of a very bright, overly saturated picture (like the tv's on display at Game). Its just that before I changed this feature, I had alot of eye strain and the backlight was cranked up all the way.

After turning it off, I could turn the backlight down to 4/10 and adjust the brightness and picture down to much lower levels. My screen isn't overly bright because I used test patterns to get the picture reasonably accurate. It just seemed like there was no headroom for the screen to get brighter when the video required it.
