Sony demonstrates paper-powered battery

^^ this. So the usual excuse for not answering your phone changes from 'my battery was flat' to 'I was pee'd off'

love the Japanese, still giving the middle finger to the tree huggers

I must admit, it's the first time I've heard of cellulose being an enzyme. In the original article, they refer to cellulase.
mybb article said:
Sony made use of an enzyme known as cellulose in the water mixture to break down the paper to glucose sugar.
cnet article said:
Similar to the way termites and white ants digest wood and convert it into energy, Sony uses an enzyme called cellulase in the water mixture to break down the paper to glucose sugar.

Sure, I get that, but I presumed this thing uses recycled paper, which would make it the opposite of a middle finger.

Alternatively, they could make the paper from hemp, which is quick, cheap, and environmentally sound.

Realistically, that's not going to happen.
There's a risk of too many people having a good time if anyone goes anywhere near that plant.
