Hey guys,

I would like to know what your thoughts are about this camera. I will be using it for some wildlife pics and the occasional trip to the coast. Nothing professional required. Will this be ok for descent-ish pics?

Thanks

PS. I am a big noob when it comes to photography

Do look at the Nikon P500 (on special at Orms) and the Canon SX40 too. They may have lower MP, but their lenses are wider. You might also find that their picture quality is actually better than the Sony. I'm sure it's pretty evenly matched, but if it was me, I would go for the Canon or Nikon.

Mmmm. That is a good deal too. I don't really know either of these cameras...

Maybe you can go to a shop and test both in the same conditions, set to auto. Low light is where you might see a difference. Take an SD card with and compare afterwards on your PC at home. That would be the best test, as well as the feel of each when you handle them.

That is a very good deal.. I can get the Sony for R3495 brand new.. Is that discount enough for you to rather buy the Sony or would you still go with the Nikon? I must say the Nikon looks great :)
Where can you get this price if I may ask. Also looking to buy and can't decide between Canon and the Sony
