Sony Ericsson K800i?

yeah got no mem stick ... :( ... darn .. most prob gonna cost a whole lot for the stick too ... but gr8 phone none the less ... love it so far ...

Love mine too. Pity I know only one other person with a 3G phone, so the whole video call thing is a bit of a waste. New toy, no one to play with.........

dont know if anyone knows this ... but the vodaphone branded k800i has a little green phone and red phone button instead if an internet button and a toolbar button ... they physically changed the buttons .... h8 vodaphone ... and their silly icons

The right softkey is now the toolbar button in standby and pushing the joystick up (in standby) will do the internet thing, so you don't really loose functionality.

Very interesting, only noticed it now. Wonder if that will mess up everything if you get rid of the vodafone stuff and load the default firmware...
I could change the vodacom/fone startup screen and theme, but looks like I'm stuck with the 'Yebo Gogo' screen on shutdown. I'm also not very happy that they replaced the Cybershot logo at the front with the vodafone logo.

Tried the video calling thing yesterday, worked liked a charm.:)

Are all the K800i phones in SA Vodafone Live? Or does it depend where you buy it. I went to a Vodashop to check one out and the sample there had no Vodafone branding on it.

GregR ...
As far as i know all vodacom K800i are the vodaphone live type ...

i just debranded my phone using that wantonserver ... the original SE icons and layout is just so much better ... phone is also "faster" and in general runs better ... cost me R66 to do online using the cable that came with the phone ...

... the normal retail k800i comes with a 64mb memory card. I think it is robbery by vodafone and vodacom not including a memory stick with their phones ... just bought an N80 for my sister and that came with a 128 SD card ...

Just bought my K800i this weekend from Game. Awesome phone, it was worth the wait. PC suite is a little unstable though. And I'm battling to set it up as modem. But as a phone / camera-phone it rocks!

I contacted SE to help with setting up K800i as modem, they were no help - any ideas/advice anyone?

Got my K800i About 3 weeks ago. Excellent phone. Very nice camera. 3.2 Mega pixels. Very good MP3 player. Pitty there is no memory card included in package. Bought 512Mb M2 card for extra space.:)

I'm rather glad I got my W900i through MTN and not Vodacom. I prefer stock than some crappy rebranded phone.

Memory Stick Micro - where and how much?

I see that the SE shop at Vodaworld have stock of the 256 and 512 M2's. They are selling the 512 for R599, even though the local Sony website lists the recommended price as R399!!!!

Where did you lot see them for sale, and how much was the price?

Where is the best place to get a non-branded K800i on a cash deal ?... the retail does come with the memory stick right??? preferably local stock

K800i with Topup 135

Looking for a good deal on a K800i with Topup 135 in Cape Town Southern Suburbs.

I can travel as far as the Boerewors Belt if need be.

I have 3 weeks to get the deal sorted.
Anyone?
Suggestions perhaps.

BTTB dont know if you will get it on topup 135 even with weekender you have to pay R800 extra for the phone. I got mine last week on topup R315 and awesome phone except for the vodaphone live branding :(

Thanks DS :)

I can also buy the phone if need be?
Just wondering what are the best options at the moment.
I am tired of paying 4U Rates. Time for a change.
