I'm looking at getting the Sony Ericsson P1 with my Vodacom upgrade.

Has anybody got the phone, or used it before? Is it worth getting?
Any advice/comments/problems/quirks on the phone I should be aware of, please comment.

Thanks for your time.

I've had the M600i, which is very similar to the P1i. I LOVED my phone to bits. I'm very annoyed that I lost it.

The QWERTY keyboard takes some getting used to, but once you're used to it, especially coupled with the "learning" predictive text, anything else will be very irritating to use.

It's not a flashy, WOW phone like different phones being released recently , but its strength lies in that it works beautifully. It's fairly responsive, very stable and easy-to-use. The form factor is a good size for a PDA, and battery-life is good too.

The only annoying thing for me was the lack of "softkeys."

It's an awesome phone for the price - IMO, you wont get better in the price range it comes in.

I this is the type of phone you looking to get, I suggest the new SE G900.
The p1 is a lil dated.

The p1 is a lil dated.

The only problem is that no-one at Vodacom is able to tell whether the G900 will become available. Also, eventhough it's newer than the P1, there's no real reason to rather take it, apart from newer interface, and crappy 5mp camera. If it had HSDPA and GPS it would've been a no-brainer.
