Sony Ericsson P5i

Nope. Can't afford those kind of toys :D

I'm quite happy with my 2 megapixel SE k750. Lens quality is good, nice sharp photos.

I'm sure the N95 and other cell phones that have been released in the last 3 years have improved in lens quality.

I just wonder why there is a need for so many megapixels... Who wants to take i.e 5000 x 3500 (or whatever) pixel pictures with a cell phone?

You have it with you most of the time and take quick snap or video, who keeps a camera or VCam on them all the time. Now you can snap your daughter at 3 meter distance and zoom on PC in high detail to show her she really has a pimple! What fun! So yeah thats it, the quality of the shot.

When Digital cameras became mainstream everyone asked who need a 5M pixel. Now they are on 10+. Same with PC and Mobo and CPU and GCard and Cars, broadband, etc. Gizmo's the name of the game!

Well, as digicam MP increased, lens quality did too.

Now I see camera phone MP increasing, but lens quality isn't. All in due course, I guess.

I don't think so. Seems like the announcement was postponed.

Yesterday they announced a smartphone will be shown at this weeks unveiling.
So it could be the P5, just guessing. Nothings been postponed.

Oh ok well I did read on USEB that paris and beibei have been postponed but we'll see what they will announce on Tuesday.

10 points to you!:)

Seems like there is some sad news for Sony Ericsson fans - the two rumored Sony Ericsson smartphones have been cancelled. We've seen those handsets leak online numerous times and we've always duly informed you. By some twist of faith (or engineering/marketing whim) Sony Ericsson have decided that the P5 and the G702 (Beibei) will never see official release.

Some critics of the unannounced Sony Ericsson P5 claimed its specs are too inadequate to stand up to competing smartphones. Outdated before even released, was their argument. Well, we can't quite agree, but that discussion is already out of place. The Sony Ericsson P5 has been cancelled for good. You can see some of the appearances of the mysterious UIQ smartphone and learn more about it here.

:(

UIQ is dead. Long live Windows Mobile. It's no wonder SE came up with the Xperia X1 WM6.1 phone.

I doubt it, they just satifying some people with WM, UIQ will still be here.
Iphone interface will also be here and copied by every other manufacturer.

@ Archie
I have no idea what the Hecaro is. What SE sites you visit?

Yes and m-one seems reliable too. He did say paris has been cancelled for western europe atleast and there will be a higher spec'd device. I am guessing it is Hecaro.
