A great phone that is geared towards mobile entertainment.
The first thing I noticed about the W595 is its sturdy construction: the phone feels ‘meaty’ and has a good weight, which is always reassuring, because it’s nice to know that your mobile won’t crumble into tiny pieces because you accidentally dropped it.
The phone’s design has been well thought out. Stereo speakers are situated at the top and bottom of the unit, delivering great sound when watching videos or listening to music with the phone in the landscape position. The phone re-orientates the vivid 2.2-inch screen when you tilt it: hold it upright, and the screen will display in the usual portrait position; but turn it on its side, and the screen’s viewing mode changes to landscape.
Button layout is adequate and the phone is very comfortable to use. The usual entertainment options are on offer, and the phone is capable of playing videos and music in a number of formats. The user interface warrants a mention, because it’s stylish, colourful, and filled with eye candy. The only issue I had with the phone is the shoddy camera quality – pictures come out grainy and blurry. Other than that, the W595 is a great handset with some great entertainment-related options.
