I just recently purchased a new x10i, so far, I'm finding it exceptionally difficult to familiarize myself with it.
If only I could get my contacts in its phonebook, I wouldn't have to be constantly fighting the urge to throw it on the ground, repeatedly jump on it, douse it's remains in gasoline, light it, and laugh maniacally as the flame consumes whatever evil was put inside it, that drove me to do that in the first place.
Sorry... Just had to throw that out there... This phone really isn't healthy for me...
Anyway...
Does anyone know how to make any of this Moxier stuff work?
I'm trying to make it sync with my gmail account (this is apparently the only way to transfer any significant amount of useful information to the phone, eg. very large phone-books - like mine, lots of appointments in my calendar, etc.)
So far, out of desperation, I managed to transfer almost 100 (out of maybe 750) contacts from my old Nokia, through Bluetooth, but that is hell on earth, it takes forever, uses up too much battery, and I think I'm starting to hear voices.
It keeps asking me to "Please provide detailed server information" (mail.google.com isn't enough) and what is supposed to go into "Domain" and what is the "User ID"? Is it the part before the "@gmail.com"? If it is, whoever designed the software, is an idiot.
If anyone has any idea how to make this work, I would really appreciate some instructions, since I haven't found how to make this poor excuse of software (yes, you Moxier) work.
Alternately, if anyone knows any other efficient way in which I can load the necessary information into my phone, I'd appreciate it even more.
I must confess that I was quite disappointed with the x10i, Sony Ericsson used to be my favorite cellphone manufacturers since they made some of the best cellphones of our generation, including the original Walkmans (w800 and w810) and the original Cybershots.
It is depressing to think that one of the great cellphone pioneers of our time seems to have lost sight of the bigger picture, their last few phones (xperias), have been so user-unfriendly, inefficient and just not practical...
PS: Just for comparison's sake, on my old n97, all I had to do to set up my email on my phone, was type in my user name and password, it did the rest for me in a few minutes...
