Sony Experia Z Exchange issues

SO much for "upgrading" to Andoid

i got this phone yesterday, and i cant get it to sync with Exchange at all, it sets up the account, but keeps telling me that there was a connection failure when trying to check email.

Iphone has no issues connecting

anyone else had / having this issue?
