Question:

How can this bullet IP Cam have a range of 100m on IR for R3k when most other are 15m.

Theres one from Miro for about R5k has a range of 15m IR.

Am I missing something basic?

well the one only has 12 IR LEDS and the other one (90m-100m) has 112 LEDS

so it is able to light up further than just the 12 IR LEDS.....

that camera is not a true Sony branded product. It just makes use of a sony chip like so many other cams. Dont ever buy an unbranded or unheard of IP cam, they WILL give you trouble and wont be compatible with many recording systems.

P.S Generally half the quoted IR distance for true effective range.

P.P.S If you get a 100m IR cam it will generally flare up an object that is i.e 10m away from cam. IR is so strong it will create and very white image on the object.

Turns out they dont have stock of the 100m one. Thanks for the advice though peeps.
