Sony - talk nicely with each other?

I've got a Xperia Z tab and getting the Z2 phone and PS4 in August or earlier.

I've always heard how well Sony items talk to each other and was wondering if I got a Sony TV, would the 4 products have better interaction than another brand? Dose anyone have 2 Sony products?

Tough to find a lot of info online shop

Devices don't generally use propriety communication systems. They use standards such as DLNA, UPnP, Bluetooth or WiFi Direct, so any device that supports that standard, should be able to communicate with one another at some sort of level.

Manufacturers may make custom apps to make the pairing process easier, but there are many generic apps out there that do the same.
 
The newer Sony TVs generally work better with their phones. For example provided your phone supports it, you can mirror your screen with ease. I had the Z1 and it worked perfectly
 
Trying screen mirroring from my Xperia V onto a Samsung tv but struggling.

I think go into a store and let someone demo the features for you, then you will be sure that that same model of tv is compatible.
 
Yea the thing is the Sony screens are at a 30% premium over the Samsung and to me, they're pretty identical screens.

The only selling point would be interaction with the phone, tablet and PS4.

A Sony device will interact the same as a Samsung device to any TV and vice versa . Don't let marketing BS from manufacturers convince you otherwise.
 
I think there are a few things - like you can connect a PS control to the phone/tablet to control and play games, should you want to

But I do understand what you're saying - I don't think the premium is worth it
 
Actually any Android device running ICS and upwards should be able to pair with a PS3 controller, or any controller for that matter all you need is an OTG cable to pair them. I did this with my old Samsung 10.1
 
My Sony Xperia V comes with a Smart Connect app for other Sony devices. Very happy with the phone if that helps. Never tried connecting it to my PS3, as I don't need to do anything that my regular PS3 remote and controller can't. Maybe Google that app and see if it offers anything that is better than standard Android connections mentioned above.

I'm console agnostic ;)

I had an Xbox because at the time, I felt it was the better unit for me. This time it's the Playstation!
 
I'm not sure if Sony have changed but in the past all Sony products could not play copied media.
TVs, DVD players, etc.

Samsung plays everything out of the box.
