sony vaio vpccw5fg - diamond or lemon?

My friend went to Incredible Connection and was dazzled by a sony vaio vpccw15fg that lights up and is on sale (its a demo unit) for R9999

I tried to google some reviews for her but was only able to find one (7.2/10 rating...only 2 hour battery life) and all the links seem to be from Australia and India, so I guess this model never made it to Europe or the US. All of that makes me think that she can spend her money better.

Has anyone heard anything about the model?

Any other suggestions for a sub R10k notebook? She needs it for work (presentations, video editing) and some play (movies, music but NO games) and it needs to be aesthetically pleasing (girls, what can ya do).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I kind of like the look of the Gigabyte InNote Notebook: Q1580V-934FZA at R8699 on Kalahari.

Has a two year warranty and the specs look good but can't find any reviews.

Hah, I wish. I'm actually trying to bring some sense to proceedings. Since she doesn't need it for games I'm sure she can find a good lappy that will do everything she needs for 8k or so. Pity I missed that Dell 1420 Dion Wired special a couple weeks back.
