Can buy a Sony Vaio VPCS117GG for R11,000 - should I go for it?

Is it new? It sounds too much, the 117's has been discontinued some time ago, and replaced by the 127 and more recently the 137.
IIRC the 137 is around 15K and a much better performer obviously.
That should have the build-in 3G & GPS. I am busy compiling a guide on the interesting things that can be done with a VAIO and it's built-in GPS.

PM me for the email address of the Sony VAIO SA Product Manager, you can get in touch with him to get an idea of pricing. Alternatively Rectron stocks them too, if you have an account or know someone who does you can ring them up and request a price.
It seems there are not many differences between the models, the most apparent is faster i5 processor. IMO the most important factor (given there is not a huge difference in price) is the warranty, with a new machine you get a warranty, will you be getting one with the VPCS117GG?

PS you can buy a new VPCS137GG (same model as the one sold in SA stores) from SonyStyle in Hong Kong for HK$9,480, which is about R8,324 at current exchange rates, if you are planning a trip that way soon or know someone that can buy it for you. PM me for the address in Kowloon of the SonyStyle shop. Believe me, you will never ever seen such am impressive selection of Sony products and the service is awesome.
