This looks like quite a cool phone, my brother is thinking of getting it. Does anyone have any idea when ICS could be released for it in SA? :)
 
I am also thinking of getting it and not sure if ICS is available, I have a galaxy tab 7.0 plus and ICS has been available for some time in other countries but SA is lagging behind
 
Yea its still on gingerbread. There was one at a promo at the shops today and i went to software update and it was still 2.3.xxx and it said up to date
 
It is a really nice looking phone, but apparently the ics upgrade makes the phone slower.

Which is weird, because it's a 1ghz dual core processor with a low pixel density... It should be blazingly quick

my guess is that they slowed down the phone on purpose. On paper there is not much justification paying over R1000 more for a Sola
 
Ya, that's possible, similar to what Motorola did with the defy. I guess installing a custom rom is the way to go then.
 
What's the latest on this phone, my daughter has just asked me to find the pros and cons with regards this phone?
 
Got this phone about a week ago (because I was curious about Xperia phones plus it's small & water-proof compared to my old htc touch pro 2). Awesome gadget but very poor battery life.
 
Is it running on ICS in SA yet ?
mmmm, I was wondering about the battery live because on GSM Arena it looks like it has good battery live
 
Got one yesterday for the son and was updated to ICS when we plugged it into his PC. Will check out the battery life. Impressed with it so far.
 
Seems like a pretty cool entry level phone, then only real problem I have with it is the low screen res: 320 x 480 pixels ~165 ppi
 
Bump.anyone else get this phone?my gf is upgrading, and its btwn this,the xperia tipo,galaxy ace plus, and galaxy x-cover.from a quick look it seems the xperia go whups them all.
 
We are very happy with it. Been in the swimming pool a few times when forgot to take out of the pocket. Really cool phone and performance is great. My son use it to record his piano playing and it whacks my Samsung Note when it comes to sound quality, absolute super sound!
