So I'm thinking of getting the Sony Xperia Sp from FNB. It has a price tag of R199pm, which is not bad for the specs I reckon. Anyone have any experience with this phone?

Thanks!

Hi Adidas

I need to get a new phone and have been thinking of either the Sony Xperia SP (R199) or the samsung galaxy S4 mini (R209 not sure if its LTE version). Not keen on paying too much and toting around a big screen anymore (previous phone was a galaxy note) and I'm looking for something with good build quality, good battery life and good hardware and software features (Infrared remote on mini is a small plus).

From all the views and no replies yet, my guess is not many people have experience with the SP as it is only sold in SA through FNB. This makes me wonder if there will be good enough support and updates. Hopefully someone in the know will reply!

On another note, if you can hold off your purchase for a few months, I think that Sony are going to unveil the Z1s (mini) at CES on 6 Jan which has some good specs and although will cost more, it will probably be sold through more channels and have more support in SA.

Let me know if you do decide to buy.

i'm a new Xperia user (new user of of new Xperia:) )
I have an Xperia V and chose it over a S4 mini, considered the IR to be a necessity but decided otherwise after.
Saw the specs of the Z1 mini, its gonna be mega and probably will be a top seller but couldn't wait and the Z1 mini will cost a lot more.

for R199, it seems a very sweet deal/
