Sony Xplod CD deck buttons to bright..

Please help I have just bought a Sony Xplod with Bluetooth and what not, It seems to work very well, but trying it at night I noticed how bright the lit buttons are. Reading the manual I read that you can dim the display but that does nothing for the buttons witch are so bright that it could be considered dangerous to drive with at night.
Please if anyone knows how to adjust them either using the interface or 'manually' post here. I have checked google all over but no luck.

I had a sony deck ages ago, if installed correctly it should dim the entire unit once your lights are switched on. If yours does already do this then you are out of luck i think.

If you're talking about the white light around the volume button, then you're out of luck. That light cannot be dimmed. I bought a Sony MEX-BT3800U a year ago and before then I did a bit of research into different units. That white light was something many people were complaining about. That being said, after a year I don't even notice it any longer.
