So my stepfather phones me to say he's downloaded Adobe Reader for his Sony Z2, but he can't read an attachment he sends from his computer. I tried explaining to him but we were battling telephonically, so I popped over and thought I'd solve the issue in 3 minutes - but really could not understand why things weren't working myself!
He uses a telkomnet email address and he's setup on his Windows PC using Outlook and his Sony Z2. He won't be sending from the phone though, he just wants to keep an eye on that inbox if needed. Now when he sends an attachment from Outlook to his Z2, it comes through as something like winmail.dat with no attachment. His sent item shows it was sent, but it is stripped from the phone.
However - if he sends from Outlook to my Sony table (same Android version) on my own email, I get the attachment fine! What's more is that if I then forward to his phone, he THEN get's the attachment. If I send from my phone/tablet to his Z2, he get's it as well. The issue seems to because his Outlook/PC and phone share the same mail address -but I have no idea why
I hope this all makes sense :/
