Hi

I have a SonyEricsson W890i cellphone. I have had the phone for roughly a year now and for roughly half of that period I have had the phone restart at random intervals daily and then after a restarts completes, it says "Inactive SIM" on screen, then restart again. Sometime this process loops for 2 to 3 times before it settles down.

I have tried more than one SIM and even different Service Providers / Network Operators.

I have tried to update the phone using the Sony Ericsson Update Service, but it said that I am already running the latest version of software.

I have even tried to use the "Phone Repair" option in the SonyEricsson PC Suite with no avail.

Lastly also tried the "Master Reset - ALL" option on the phone itself but it did not fix my problem.

From a lot of read-up on the internet, this is apparently a common issue with a vast majority of SonyEricsson phones and not just my specific model.

I need help please.

our company is sponsored by SE and MTN and have this problem a few times, brand was the k770 -

I currently have the SE Satio, had a K750i & my SO has a C902......none of our phones ever gave this problem. - touch wood

My wife's phone does the exact same thing - C902. Actually it did it right out of the box, sent it in, apparantly they gave us a whole new phone (I don't believe them), but it worked. I have upgraded the software once, and this morning the phone just wiped itself or something, says invalid sim, and doesn't get past the SE screen. Now she is at work, no phone, can't get into our estate complex, and I am pissed.

Its very frustrating. A lot of people sit with the same problem - just do a search on the net and you would be surprised to see how many people are experiencing the same problem with various SonyEricsson phones. How does one fix this?

WiT8litZ : generally when they replace a phone under warrant because they cannot repair is the phone is with another "refurbished" replacement, not new, unless I think its been returned within 7 days of initial purchase
