Sony's 40GB PS3 due 28 October?

That there is them sour grapes . . .

They have to remove something to justify spending $100 more on a 60Gb. WiFi is too critical a feature I imagine (I'm guessing that's why folks said they didn't buy the 20Gb) and just a few USB ports won't cut it.

I just hope Sony do something to clear up the SKU confusion. As joystiq said in their podcast, isn't it ironic that the company that criticized their competition for introducing 2 SKU's now has 4/5 of their own? (20Gb, 40Gb, 60Gb, (PAL 60Gb no BC), 80Gb)

I'm not 100% sure that they have removed the software emulation. I think that what the release meant was that there is no hardware emulation included. Which has been the case on all models for a while anyway. After all it just doesn't make any sense whatsovere to remove a purely software feature.

I'll wait for at least say another 3 dozen "sightings" before I'll take the 160gb as gospel.

So I give it about a week ;) whatever happened to secrets . . . . :p

lol I also think the 160gb is rubbish, but I thought the 80gb was also a bad rumour...
I have now seen two reports on the 160gb which cited different sources

No, I don't think it's rubbish, Sony is the sort of company that just won't be able to sit still if someone else has a feature over them. We will see a 160Gb+ PS3 . . . ;)
