Soo who has their PS4?

I also want dlna on it, but I have other means for that at the moment, so not too bothered really. I love mine too, been struggling to get away from it for the majority of the weekend.
 
I nearly got one today while at BT games then remembered the whole DLNA Story and stopped myself.

Currently got 4 xboxes and 148 games. BT said they will take all my games off my hands when the time comes. Still not 100% convinced I want to jump ship from xbox to playstation, but the thoughts are strong. Got a lot of mates on xbox live so will need to do some convincing. Currently quite heavily invested in Xbox.

What has made me think about the jump is how Sony pays a lot more attention to SA than Microsoft.

Think I will wait for the XBO to land here then make up my mind. From current rumours, that will give me a LOT of time to think.

Oh yes, you will have a very long time to think if they do decide to go for the 2015 launch...What you should consider though, do you really want to invest in a console that sees your country as a not worthy market?

Remember, this is not the first time Microsoft has given us the finger...xbox live for 360...

Then there is also the price to consider, and the fact that we will not be able to use the xbone to its full potential, as our satellite television providers will certainly not integrate with it, so all you will do is use it as a pass through.

Please do not think I am trying to convince you of anything, my xbox 360 served me very well, both of the ones I procured, I am only pointing out these things.

It is for the very reasons you mentioned that I am considering changing.
It is a hard decision though. I have made a lot of friends on xbox live over the years. Can't change that very easily.

No rush though. Right now, I am happy in the space I am in.

I'm keeping on of my xboxes as well as using my PS4. Also got a few friends there that I enjoy playing with.

Few things I've found:

As mentioned, the controller feels a lot different to 360- wider as well as the sticks being very jumpy, in my opinion.

I've noticed the wobble too, but doesn't seem to affect anything.

I like the light strip, really cool.

I've only played NFSD Rivals, not too bad, seems to struggle a bit at certain times though.

Over all I'm enjoying it, but my Xbox 360 will still see more action for awhile.

Probably will end up with both - will see. In addition to the 4 x 360's I have, I also have a PS3 Slim. Think it has been on twice. Sigh...
 
Let me weigh in here.....

I am no gamer, never owned a console and never played computer games even. HOWEVER, I am very keen on the XBO and the new kinect. I want the kids to play along and make it fun for them too, they are to small to understand the controller idea, but physically moving around might get them involved.

I know, off topic. Just thought I'd share my useless thought.

Thank you for this. Microsoft does put allot of emphasis on their kinect idea, and It is interesting to know that people do see it in this manner. I do not have children, so I would not have looked at it in this way. The PS4 camera is also available, but I am not sure how extensive it is.

Well, first impressions:

1. I really like the look and feel of the console. It looks sleek, and the angled design looks better then the rounded one of the PS3 imo.
2.the system runs quick and responsive, but at the moment it feels a bit lacking in terms of options, you basically have all the settings, psn store, games, and a video menu that is not worth much at the moment. The only app that is currently available is IGN as far as I could see.

3. The downloads work well, I added resogun from my phone, and it started downloading on the PS4 while it was off. It switched itself to standby mode when the download was started. (plus it has a cool pulsating orange light on the console in Standby mode.

4. it runs quiet, which is a plus, and overall, the console seems to run at good temps. quite a bit of heat exhausted at the back of course, but the rest of the console seems to run cool enough, the vents are on either side of the console in the grooves.

5. This might not matter to many, but I have to mention it. The wifi on the console is very good. I have struggled with wifi devices that I have to use downstairs at my tv, but the PS4's wifi connects properly with my 300mpbs N router, and downloads were running at my full line speed.

6. The controller feels good, it is sturdy, and quite comfortable. It is going to take me some getting used to as I am used to the xbox 360 controller, but the dualshock 4 is a huge upgrade from the PS3 controllers.

7. I have specifically looked for the wobble that people mentioned, and it is definitely there, but only if you go and push down in the bottom left corner of the console. it looks like what sony wanted to do was keep the matte part steady, and the glossy part elevated, but the way they positioned the rubber strips. Why they wanted to, I am not sure, but I intend to find out.

On the games I cannot comment too much, as I only have fifa 14 and AC: BLack flag, which arent really next gen titles. I must say though, the detail in fifa is brilliant, it almost looks like a real footy match, especially now with the 3d crowds.

I think the console does need to mature a bit, so we will see as sony releases updates and features, and I will see if I can pick up killzone over the weekend, i put it on hold because I prefer fps games on pc. That being said, I do not regret my purchase at all, it is an impressive piece of hardware.

Damn! Now I really want one. I'm not too worried about the other features. I want it purely for gaming.
 
That's why I got mine, I already have a media center solution. It is good to cater for multimedia, but I do not think that companies should lose focus on what it is, a gaming console.
 
Seems a bit silly to buy the PS4 now, since there really aren't any interesting games out for it yet. Once The new infamous comes out...then...things will be different.

Playstation also has this. It's called the Playstation Eye.

Awesome thing though is that Sony doesn't force it on you.
