Was busy playing BFBC2 when i noticed my ping was too high so i closed a few high cpu stuff from task manager.started bfbc2 and noticed none of the sound is working, closed it and tried playing a music file and it said :Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly. I went into device manager and it said that my audio device is working properly.i then went into control panel>sound speed and audio devices>sound and audio devices.all the volume settings were turned down and were grayed out so i couldn't adjust them.(it also said something about no playback device.i opened realtech HD sound manager and played the loopy music and it played fine but everything else was still broken.i restarted windows hoping everything would work again (it played the windows start music) but with no luck.

What did i close and how can i fix it again?

Have you tried uninstalling your audio device in device manager and re-installing again?
