so this is a room i spend at least 4hrs of the day in, music is a constant in there.

the music source is a macbook pro connected to a rotel amp, connected to a pair of bose 901 speakers (+ it's equaliser).
the speakers are an overkill for the size of the room (about 40m sq - they simply need more legroom.

an option is to switch them over for a pair of beolab 8000 speakers i have.
however, one of the beolab speakers got damaged a few yrs back - a "sight unseen" estimate for repair was around R4k beginning of last yr. invariably, i can add on another R1k to that estimate now.

both the bose & beolab are at least 10yrs old now.
apart from being very sexy and having a small footprint, the beolab produce very very nice sound in this type of small environment.

question is, do i abandon the the beolabs (with the repairs cost) and get a new pair of smallish bookshelf type speakers (at similar b&o repair cost), or go with the beolab repairs ?

Wo Ha Bose 901 !
I would never get rid of these babies - just play them softer for that room ;-)
