Installed a Compro TV card.
After this, my sound card did not work.

Tried all of the following:

1. Unplugging sound card, replugging sound card
2. Updating sound card drivers
3. Uninstalling TV card, re-intalling sound card
4. Trying a different slot for the sound card.
5. Buying a new sound card

What the hell? There is also a sound port on the TV card, which when I eventually re-installed that, did not work. Now I'm stuck with the on board sound card, which whistles all the time and the sound is pretty awful as well.

Any other suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.

Hmmm. I would make sure onboard sound is properly disabled.

Make sure sound card works before installing the TV card again.

If the sound card then stops working, try to tweak IRQs...

firstly if you running vista, gooooooood night brother man.
I have vista or 4.5 months and still struggling with my tv card sound.I just gave up.
(tv tuners basically must be hassle in vista especially the sound part.
Temp fix..like antwan said.
My fix(also temp).enable onboard sound(via bios) to
if your pc boots with no bsod, then you lucky..at once go to the device manager and disable onboard there.
Do not install the drivers of the cd that came with it,Let the internet search for it and install it.
After that then install yours.
make sure you have the sound card jumpers on the pci card correct(sometimes they wrong)
next just try to relay the sound via output from card to tv and visa versa.THen check.
CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME THE DETAILS OF THE SOUND CARD AND TV CARD.(ALSO DOES THE SOUND CARD HAVE A GAME PORT OR TH TV CARD(RARE BUT JUST CHECK)
