South Africa considers easing lockdown

South Africa’s National Command Council, the body overseeing the government’s response to the coronavirus crisis, is considering easing lockdown rules more rapidly as the economy tanks and poverty levels soar, according to three senior officials with knowledge of the talks.

Curbs could be relaxed in some provinces or areas with low infection rates, and retained in hotspots such as Cape Town, according to two of the officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized to comment.

You cannot keep some areas locked up and others not, especially areas that drive the economy, it's no good allowed Pofadder to open up but a bigger more important city remains closed. How about controlling hotspots within said cities as I'm sure the hotspots aren't everywhere and it would be far easier to maintain those than trying to keep economic hubs closed.

Essentially power would need to be handed down from the National Command Councils to Provincial Command Councils.

I don't think Fuhr Dlamini-Zuma would give up power

Dishonest headline, maybe? Because South Africa is long past the nuance of easing lockdown.

It is only our tyrant masters who are out of touch with reality and wish to flirt with complete disintegration of anything that still holds value.

While one official said a decision is likely to be taken within 10 days, another said no timeline had been set for adjusting the lockdown level.
A whole article based on some bs.
You really don't need to be copy/pasting Bloomberg corona articles @mybb.

Certainly there will be scant relief if any before Winter's cold clutch has passed us by on towards the Northern Hemisphere.

Might...maybe...woulda...coulda...shoulda...

Just fuk off with these nonsensical, BS, dreamt up, non-factual kak "articles" already.

Well I certainly hope it's true... but they can shove it where the sun don't shine if they keep the entire of Cape Town at Level 4 because of a few hot spots, and the fact that we are testing more so out number will be higher. People are getting desperate now, Corona or no Corona.

let is loose and lets see what happens...no crystal balls after all

Gee, I wonder why. Seeing President Malema in the mirror behind them. No flight to Dubai for them babe. Take it where they stand.

Great way for the ANC to impose restrictions on the DA run western cape and use that as a political tool , everyone knows the WC has the highest number of infections simply because they have performed more tests than any other province.

Where is this easing? I'm seeing more things being gazetted, now there is the approved list of clothing??

May be approaching a situation of "ease out of it or you will be eased out of it by the people".

Can't maintain hot spots either.
