South African crypto startup project UBU update

This will create the world’s first decentralised currency that primarily benefits people at the bottom of the economic pyramid.
So long as they're tech savvy & have access to a decent phone / device?

Every person has economic value, yet almost 3 billion are excluded from economic participation.

Consider that the poor expend most of their energy just surviving.
Cognitive dissonance or am I missing something here? How does a person 'fighting for survival' have the means to set up a wallet on a smartphone?

The white paper covers the tech and how sad the world is but doesn't seem to spend any time actually discussing how this currency gets into the hands of those that need it most. There's a technological barrier to entry.

Their app is live on Play store and I managed to register. It is not picking up my daily Ubu allocations from when I registered last year though.

Jamie McKane Maybe time to do a follow up? See how close they are to doing a proper launch and what vendors have signed up?
