Been looking through the 2011 guild list of South African guilds. Seems all are more focused towards raiding or just being social? Is no one looking specifically at the PVP aspect of the game? With the new rated battle grounds guild progress in PVP is becoming more appealing.

I am looking to transfer or roll a new toon aimed specifically at PVP. Any guilds out there doing just this or am I alone in this?

Sadly I doubt there are many. Having spent 2 months in the Uk last year with 30 -50ms and pvp'ed alot. No matter how good your connection is and how good a player you are 200ms plus sucks in good pvp.

There are still SA players with 2000+ arena rankings though playing with +200ms. I am not one and have not even been close, but it can be done.

PUG pvp just sucks big time, horde or alliance! Too many people just there for the free epics and running around like headless chickens. Granted that organized PVP in rated BG's are a complete new ball game, I am sure an organized SA team will not do so bad...

Sadly, this.

Although things have gotten a lot better (I remember doing Rogue / Mage back in TBC - with 600-700ms :S), I believe if you have a good setup and them people use their brains, 2000+ rating is obtainable. At least thats what I'm aiming for :'>

Edit: Also, it would help a lot if your healer is not from SA. :\

Well, ive been 2.6k and i did alot of searching and only found 1 player/healer that was higher then me and he was a 2.7k druid that was from SA, sadly he was in UK tho haha

I did serious arenas at one stage and managed to get to 2k before I quit playing. Having said that, it took insane amount of work and coordination. Comp was warrior/shaman when it was kinda faceroll(old wf totem) so I guess the rating didnt really mean much.
