SpaceX ready for first manned space mission

Elon Musk is about to face his biggest test after almost two decades as a space entrepreneur: launching human beings into orbit.

If the weather holds and there are no technical issues, a SpaceX Dragon capsule atop a Falcon 9 rocket will blast off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 4:33 p.m. on May 27.

you prolly have a better chance of seeing it with the clear skies you have up there (not sure of the trajectory of the craft though).
 
When our great-great-grand children (yes, we will live that long coz of the new vitamins Musk is gonna find in the asteroid belt) call us from LA Grand Mars, and tell us to stop being old fogies, we can reply Pfffft, we witnessed the first launch of what was to become the United Space Federation.
