How was this result anything but WIN? Switzerland played awesome footy and had the better chances. Every time Spain attacked on the right you could safely snooze knowing that nothing would come out of it. Absolute, unadulterated WIN.

before leaving for the game today, yours was the last post on this thread... i remember thinking "damn, this dude hasn't seen the swiss play yet - i wonder what excuse he'd make for spain if they lost today''

The horrendous display by Bafana has killed my buzz...else I'd have a go at you - but I now realise that it's much more fun watching you stick your own foot down your throat.

Let's hope Bafana and Spain stay in the WC long enough to keep everyone interested. For now, looking forward to seeing the Dutch again on Saturday in Durbs - the trip to jozi was a killer.

and England thought they had problems with wingers with no final ball :o

The Swiss were brilliant. The tactics were perfect which is not a surprise if you ever watched Bayern Munich under Hitzfield. The players where disciplined and committed. Spain though had no plan B and where pedestrian in the first half.

Having said that Spain never got the bounce of the ball while the Swiss got their break so luck played it's part.

How about Alonso's missile that hit the bar :eek:

Probably the biggest upset so far.

Spain will still go through though. I don't see them falling out so easy.

Here I am.

Gutted over last nights result, not the fact that we lost to the Swiss but there fact that Spain might not top the group. If they dont top the group, they wont come to Cape Town for the round of 16 clash.

FORCA ESPANA - they will bounce back.
 
I would be more worried they don't quality than where they play cause they may not be playing anywhere come the last 16 :D.
