I have been struggling with spam on my telkomsa email addresses for a long time. The issue was reported and we were told that they are looking into it, but it seems that there is still no improvement. (10 emails from 'Standard Bank' today alone). The last time I complained, the genius responding told me to 'file a complaint with the police', which not only exhibits his complete ignorance in terms of procedure, but also in terms of the law
What I also don't understand is that there are still quite a few messages being generated or seeming to generate from telkomsa addresses. I received four messages today from 'Telkom' regarding my 'debit order'. How is it that after repeatedly marking messages as spam (RCS loans, ABSA, Standard Bank, Nedbank) the spam filter is still not able to filter these out? At one point someone said that a new AI had been adopted and it would take time for it to 'learn'. How long does this specific AI take to learn then? Because in some instances I get over 30 messages a week that I mark as spam (sometimes as much as 6 messages a day from 'Nedbank', 4 messages from loan companies such as Direct Access etc. ) If the same subject or sender is constantly flagged, how is this still coming through?
Yes, I now that email spoofing is happening in some cases (e.g. some of the Telkom mails) and that the sender's name might be the same, but the originating email address might not, but still. A decent spam filter's AI should surely be able to discern these spam messages from legit messages? Anyone else have issues ... or an explanation? It seems the people at Telkom who are supposed to sort stuff like this are either clueless or don't care or both
