Spar is ditching SAP for its distribution centres

Interesting. I've always believed that once you take the blue-pill you're stuffed for life - there is no going back. Will be keen to see if they manage to pull it off. Also, never understood why anyone would go SAP, other than if someone in senior management was taking a serious kickback.
 
Eish, that must have been a fscking hard decision given how much money they dropped on that implementation.

SAP is a damned good piece of software, when its implemented properly. You only ever really hear about the failed implementations, there are countless more implementations that went through mostly smoothly and operate well.
 
**** SAP they bribed our corrupt liddle guava mint to get rid of Oracle as an ERP shrinking our market considerable just so some previously discriminated against individuals can steal what WMC built like there's no tomorrow..

**** off and die actually.
 
I've never seen SAP making anything better for anyone it's always a **** show.

Sure the implementation might go smoothly enough, but then the people who need to use it daily have to suffer.

Lose lose either way.

My brother in law's Shipping/Warehousing firm uses SAP. I also fiddled with it a little - brilliant piece of software and it's intuitive. Also a lot of Updates.

On Enterprise scale there is not that many options..

Also a platform like ERP is not only the technology it is the ecosystem of partners and customers and talent. A lot of SAP success is because it had success and therefore has lots of customers, lots of partners and lots of talent in the market. The technology is actually quite secondary.
 
Hmmm PnP is on SAP. Spent an absolute fortune customizing it to how they think and work while moving away from their silver bullet Y2K system that wasn’t done by Y2K
But weren’t they a poster child at the AWS events? O wait - look at them now….

PnPs current situation has fsck all to do with SAP and everything to do with poor management decisions though.
