hey guys sorry for the noob question but i need to be sure...

my car runs on 195,55,R17
one of my tyers crapped out and i had to throw on a marie biscuit spare.

i called around asking for a new tyer and the soonest they can get stock is next friday.

would it be better for me to put on a 195.50.R16 proper car tyer on rather than the marie biscuit for the next week?
its a wheel off a spare car i have parked in the garage atm.

Are you only ordering one new tyre? It's better to order get them in pairs at the very least AFAIK.

really dont trust that little marie biscuit wheel lasting a full week thats why i asked if i can rather fit another cars wheel that has the same PCD even though its a 16inch

No you don't want to drive around with two different diameter wheels on the same axle. Similarly, the manual is very specific about what speed you should not exceed with a biscuit spare. You are in between a rock and a hard place.
Surely, someone must be able to supply you with a second hand tyre as a temporary replacement, even if it is not in very good condition?

will ask around, well the marie biscuit wheel is a 14inch so i assumed throwing on a 16inch thats also wider would be a better option.its a front wheel drive car so putting the spare at the back

Personally, I would probably go for the 16" if I had no other way out iso the biscuit, but would definitely drive slower than normal.
What vehicle is it? How come the biscuit is smaller than the road rims?

It's often smaller than the road rims.

I was in the same boat a week ago. I drove on the biscuit for about 10 days, but my office is about 4km away. All highway driving or long distance I had to do I swapped with my wife's car during that period

But 14" for 17" "? That is a big difference.
My daughter does hundreds of kilos a day in her Honda. So we got her a proper road rim as a spare and then I spent a weekend modifying the boot to be able to hold the decent spare.
These vehicle manufacturers and their damm shortcuts!
Imagine being on a long trip, stuck in Gatkoppieslaagte, with a 14" biscuit for a spare! When the road rims are17"? Are they out of their minds?

The rim size is less relevant than the overall diameter. You'll find that your spare and normal tyres are the same height overall.
That being said, don't drive around on the spare for that long.
Those sizes aren't crazy rare. Try other tyre shops. Longest I've ever had to wait is one day.

This, my fiesta came with 15 inch wheels and a 14 inch spare, however, the 14 has a bigger sidewall making the diameter very close to the same.

The Ford Ecosport Ambiente has 15" steel wheels and the other models have 16" mags, yet both have the same ground clearance and no suspension differences, so the wheel + tyre has basically the same overall diameter.

my tyers are only 2 months old.and all the tyer places around centurion dont have the bridgestone fireforce ff70s in stock hence why id rather wait for them to get the exact tyers in again

It is to get the car performance to meet European (EU) regulations.................Every little helps.
