I see several of the newer Inverters, 24 or 48 volt have these specs as far as the PV inputs is concerned.
To have a minimum solar voltage of 120 volts means 3 panels in series!
Surely this is a typo or interpretation error ?

Anybody have this Inverter and can maybe shed some light on the panel input voltage ?

No the high voltage mppt works like that , keep in mind if the panels are lets say 40v panels if it drops below that 120v you get next to nothing as the mppt would switch off

So should aim for a bit higher to get going

They have other advantages so i would definitely go higher voltage model instead of lower

ie lower voltage mppt see you drop out of mppt range a lot easier

You just keep adding panels in series , but have to keep a healthy buffer at the top not to get to close to max voc especially with blue poly panes

Thanks for the reply and thats exactly what I figured.
Problem is I just want to basically upgrade my inverter.
I have a slightly modified 1000W Luminious 24v inverter atm with 2 x 43v panels in parallel and 6 batteries and have had this going for over 8 years now and has worked like a charm so basically I do not want to alter anything.
Looks like I need to cancel this order :(

yea you would need at least 2 more panels
personally i would not buy a low voltage mppt inverter, unless no shading being cast on panels ie no trees chimneys etc

you could add a cheap charge controller and connect panels direct to battery for interim
and when you get more panels later start using the built in mppt

if you can't get anything else suitable
