The parliamentary portfolio committee on intelligence should probe the so-called Special Browse report, the Congress of SA Trade Unions said on Tuesday.
The Browse report became public earlier this year alleging that several people ranging from ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma to some former MK veterans were involved in plans to overthrow the government. It included allegations that Zuma was being bankrolled by Libyan and Angolan leaders to oust President Thabo Mbeki and that former Umkhonto We Sizwe (MK) veterans met to discuss plans to overthrow the government.
"It is within this context that we have joined the call made by the SA Communist Party for the parliamentary portfolio committee on intelligence to join the investigation," Cosatu said.

Wonder how long the Tri Alliance will last?
SACP wants to stand on their own, that's depending on the outcome of the ANC December meeting.
COSATO is not happy with the way the ANC is leading to a more "private government" if you want to put it that way.
The ANC has a lot of quarrels within party itself, Mbeki vs. Zuma.
IMO I don't think this alliance will last long anymore. To be honest the only reason why the ANC is in goverment is because of COSATU. I don't know if it is legal for a union to stand as a party during elections, but who ever gets COSATU behind them will be in power.
SACP is a useless drop in the pond and anything they say is water over a duck anyways.
I say let the inhouse fighting begin and bring fourth a better government with a good opposition. Viva!
