You drive through residential areas and to keep the speed limit at 60, they make you slow down to about 20 or 30. Aren't speed bumps supposed to 'keep' you at 60 rather than make you waste your brakes and shock absorbers.
And what does pressing brakes do ? It wastes the energy and momentum that you've built up. So ? You have to use more petrol to get to a comfortable speed, and petrol taxes is one of the best incomes for the government.
Is there more to it than just slowing us down for safety's sake?
