Speed Issues Randpark Ridge

Hey guys (and ladies :p)

For the past 4 years I've reported my problem to Telkom explaining that I have slow access or speed related issues... Every time I phone they explain to me that a technician is working on it and that is every time for the past four years. I don't know what to do any more as I am so frustrated with the situation, I changed ISP thinking that it would fix the issue.

Telkom has explained to me that the exchange/dslam (whatever the box on the side of the road is called) is over loaded with users connecting, So are they really saying that for the past 4 years this issue has existed?

I'm merely asking for some assistance as to what I can do with regards to my issue as I actually want to blow the dslam/exchange up....

Edit: Oh... I'm currently on 4MB but whenever I do a speed test I get 0.4 down and 0.4 up :/

We have the same issue at our offices in Randpark Ridge and Telkom are doing jack ***** about it.

Hopefully they install some MSANs in the area with upgraded backhaul links soon.

I hope so because i'm extremely irritated with their service of late.

My line has been getting worse over the last month, but this last week it has been virtually non existent at any time of the day.

I'm also in Randparkridge, DSL speed is almost unusable. I am slightly optimistic though. Seems Telkom are doing lots of work around the DSLAM on Dale lace ave. Anyone Know if Telkom is busy doing an upgrade of this DSLAM?

A telkom technician who came to test my line in hilary road said we are one of the first to be getting upgraded to vdsl exchange in the area, so lets hope we go from unusable to super fast:) He said it would take 6 to 8 weeks and that was a few weeks ago. I see they installed the big white box this week. I just hope it's all true I need it to be true.
